GreenWorks provided site planning and interpretive trail design services to Cedar Sinai Park, a residential community for senior citizens located in Portland’s West Hills.  The objective was to create a walking path though the nearby forest for Cedar Sinai Park residents that is refreshing, restful and beautiful.  Working with a key group of advocates, GreenWorks studied four potential alignments for the trail, evaluating  environmental impacts, hiker experience and barrier-free accessibility.  The trail includes a trailhead, several rest spots, a meadow viewpoint and a Overlook Pavilion.  Located within an Environmental Conservation Zone, the trail is a model of environmental sustainability, utilizing low impact construction methods and permeable paving.
