Watsonville Water Treatment Facility

GreenWorks provided site planning and design services for this innovative facility designed to protect a sensitive freshwater aquifer on the central California coast.  As a reflection of the environmental mission of the facility, all site improvements will be integrated into an environmental, education program for the public.  The facility design fits the agrarian setting and meets the requirements of the California Coastal Commission.  Key features include a new public gateway, entrance road, eco-parking area, interpretive stormwater wetland, Pajaro River Trail access, and internal courtyard for both the public and plant employees.  The courtyard includes a dramatic water feature which utilizes water produced by the plant.  GreenWorks was responsible for all site improvements and collaborated with Michael Willis Architects and RMC, Inc. Engineers.
