Located in historic Independence, Oregon, the Veteran's Memorial Plaza was incorporated into the Independence Main Street Plaza project (also by GreenWorks) which includes raised planters, a brick colonnade, and specialty paving. In order to accommodate the proposed plaza improvements, an earlier Vietnam Veterans monument needed to be relocated. GreenWorks met with local citizens and veterans and developed a design that moved the monument closer to an important intersection, thus increasing its visual presence in the downtown. Brick paving, flagpoles and benches were added to the relocated monument, creating the new Veteran's Memorial Plaza.
