GreenWorks provided landscape architecture services in master planning a new 2.7 acre mixed - residential development near the headwaters of Tryon Creek in southwest Portland. The project includes a variety of residential types including elderly housing, town homes, and a PDC low-income apartment building. All of the new residential developments were designed to be integrated with the daylighting of a tributary of Tryon Creek.
The project goal was to intregrate the buildings, parking areas, plazas, bridges, pathways and other site elements into a cohesive sustainable site development that takes full advantage of the daylighting opportunity. “Green development” site features, included porous pavement in parking lots; flow-through planters for managing roof and pavement runoff; greenroofs; and Green Street solutions (infiltration planters for street runoff). GreenWorks services include schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and services during construction.
