GreenWorks staff is honored to participate as educators in the Summer Sustainability Series, convened by The Oregon Business Council and the Oregon University System, in affiliation with Gerding Edlen Development.
This event "...offers four intensive days on Sustainability in the Urban Built Environment, designed for a mix of professionals and top graduate students, and set in Portland, Oregon. The curriculum integrates a variety of interaction and learning opportunities each day."
GreenWorks principal Jim Figurski and Associate Jason King will lead a tour of Tanner Springs Park and other sustainable projects within the Pearl District of Portland.
Associate Jason King will give a tour of the Multnomah County Green Roof, as well as a talk covering Vegetated Architecture, Integrating Habitats, and Neighborhood Watersheds - related to removing our reliance on the Big Pipe and improving our communities through sustainable design.

GreenWorks receives the Peoples Choice Award for Category #2 for it's submittal for Metro's Integrating Habitat's Design Competition, Urban Ecotones.

GreenWorks garners two awards at the 2008 Oregon ASLA Design Awards banquet, held at the North Star ballroom on April 26th. GreenWorks received two of the seven awards given out, including a Merit award for RiverEast Center, and an Honor award for The Headwaters at Tryon Creek. Both projects in the Landscape Architectural Design category provided innovative approaches by transforming neglected urban sites to functioning landscape ecosystems.
