GreenWorks

Sustainable planning and design embraces the integration of social, economic and environmental needs of our communities. At GreenWorks, we are recognized for our knowledge and experience in urban ecological design, wide-ranging economic development project experience, and our focus on creating livable communities under current land use mandates for increasing urban density.

In addition to sustainable design, we aim to work in a sustainable manner. GreenWorks encourages healthy, cheap and fun ways to get to work. In our quest to be a sustainable office not only in the services we provide, but also in our daily office practices, GreenWorks encourages alternate modes of transportation. The firm provides employees with Metro bus passes to promote a decrease in auto trips. Employees also walk or bike to work to help reduce pollution in our city. GreenWorks purchased a hybrid car in 2002, and has been participating in the Bicycle Transportation Alliance’s Bike to Work Month since 1999.

GreenWorks brings the sustainable planning it practices outdoors into our downtown office. In 2004, GreenWorks employees formed the company’s Green Action Strategies Program, or GASP, to inventory office practices and find ways to improve them.

GreenWorks’ employees feel a huge sense of accomplishment already and hope to continue strategies that will reduce the office’s overall effect on the earth’s resources.
